Sian Ka'an Adventures
Those who decide to take the adventures that nature offers in Sian Ka’an can expect to see lots of coconut mangroves. They encompass large areas of Sian Ka’an, though 1200 different types of vegetation do exist. It’s not the vegetation of Sian Ka’an’s nature that commits most of the hunting though, it’s the five large cats that live among the grounds. Sian Ka'an Jaguars and Tapirs
The nature of the Sian Ka’an jaguar doesn’t make it look like the classic dark black jaguar. Nature has made the Sian Ka’an jaguar’s markings look more closely like a cheetah. Only the jaguar is much heavier, stronger, and made for the jungle not the plain.
A mammal that Sian Ka’an has become famous for are the Tapirs. In the Sian Ka’an nature reserve the Tapir has been put on the endangered species list. The Tapir’s numbers have decreased just short of 50% over the last three decades. Watch them live and love life as they recover in safety.
Flamengo's
One of the most delicate and elegant tropical birds living in the Sian Ka’an nature reserve is the greater flamingo. The classic dark pink flamingo that is so famous in nature pictures and videos. The greater flamingo of Sian Ka’an nature reserve is among the most beautiful animals in the world. Snorkeling and Diving
Snorkeling and diving are also available in Sian Ka’an. There is no better opportunity on the planet to see a huge variety of aquatic based life finding a home than among the clear waters of Sian Ka’an nature reserve. A few of the exotic animals living in the waters of Sian Ka’an nature reserve are the deadly crocodile and the spotted eagle stingray. The yellow and black rock beauty fish is one of the many types of tropical fish that is a low level feeder and a pure joy to observe.
What makes the rock beauty unique in nature is coloring. The high visibility of the water makes it useful to have all except the head colored shadow black and the rest colored a bright yellow to mimic the glare of a bright sun. The Sian Ka’an nature reserve is teeming with wildlife to be seen, recorded and loved for now and far into the future.
