• The trip Duende tours put together for us met the expectations we had and in parts exceeded expectation. I am very happy that you put together a program that gave us a variation of beautiful sights, culture and adventure through the whole trip. The program worked like clock work with people expecting us and making sure we received our tour, trip, accommodation according to schedule. This was over expectation! Travelling with children and asking for a comfortable trip with a bit of adventure is a difficult balance but I think you did a great job for us!
  
  Sian Ka'an was a great! Beautiful beaches, great restaurant and wonderful service. Both the hotel and restaurant as well as the tour we did was over expectation. The standard of the rooms was not high but the location and the service provided by the friendly staff was over expectation. It was wonderful to see the attention the focused on keeping the beaches and environment around us clean and tidy. The surf was high, but playing and swimming with kids worked well.
  We had a great zipline tour in Bacalar. It only took 1h30 minutes not the 3 hours stated on our agenda. However our guide was very charming and friendly and the whole place was very well built and maintained.
  Calakmul and Valentin Gomes Farias Camping was a very interesting and friendly experience. The quality of the camp site was good and the service provided was excellent. You could tell that this is a new site and that they perhaps still are working to get the routine down. This was in no way negative and the fact that Calakmul as an area still does not get much tourism probably gave us the best experience. Having meals with a local family was very interesting and gave us all, if not most our children, a wonderful insight to life in rural Mexico. The family who took care of us kept the house very clean and she served excellent food providing good service.
  Visiting the Maya pyramids in Calakmul was wonderful. It was very peaceful and I don’t think any of us realized how great it was until we visited Chitzen Itza a few days later.
  Merida and the hotel were great. Two nights and one day gave us just enough time to do some shopping, do the city tour, enjoy walking around and be prepared to leave again. The hotel was clean and provided good service. It had everything needed like laundry facilities, car cleaning provided, a pool, a bar and good breakfast and it was a great location to see the City.
  Chitzen Itza is a must see I guess and of course very impressive but as I said before, after visiting Calakmul all the sales people and other tourists ruined the experience. We all longed to get away from there asap.
  Getting to Isla Holbox also worked very well. Even though we ended up arriving late both the car rental guy picking up our car and the taxi boat were waiting for us with a smile. Over expectation!!
  The Posada on Holbox was superb! Great service and friendly staff from the second we walked in till the moment we walked out. Just what you need after two weeks of travelling, a peaceful sleepy small town and a low key hotel providing good food and refreshing drinks on the beach.
  Emanuel Escamilla provided great transportation and a good whale shark tour. The guides did a great job and as I said the transportation as usual over expectation.
  Even the taxi taking us to the airport was on time and waiting for us as we showed up in the boat taxi.
  Job well done! Thank you for a well planned and very enjoyable trip. From my perspective the kids bring back most memories from having their meals with a local family in Calakmul, kayaking in the pouring rain in Sian Kaan and they loved Isla Holbox and the easy athmosphere.

• I cannot dream of another way to tour better than this. It was never dull of boring though it was also educational, and always fun.
  The guides provided great factual information as well as a different perspective on Mayan history.

• I really enjoyed this trip. I had a lot of new experiences and I felt really comfortable exploring my own abilities. It was a different type of vacation and I really liked it. I look forward to visiting Central and South America again later in my life.
  I really liked the different guides at each site. It was interesting to see all the different perspectives. The only regret about this would be the fact that we did not get to know each guide as well as we could have. However, having Ismael with us helped with that problem a great deal.

• I really love the “go-get-em” attitude of the whole trip. From start to finish, we are always looking for the next adventure. While it isn’t rushed, we were provided with a constant stream of activities and new things to learn. And best of all, the type of things that we did on this trip were so far removed from my normal day-to-day routine that it gave me a new perspective on the area and being in nature.
