This tour combines Mayan tradition with a visit to Muyil archaeological site and its surrounding lagoons and canals.

Muyil was one of the earliest and longest inhabited ancient Maya sites on the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The site used to be an important point on the Mayan Caribbean trade route as it is situated on the lagoons of what is now called Sian Ka’an Rerserve. Muyil used to be accessible via a series of canals that connected the site with mainland Mayan sites like Coba as well as the Caribbean Ocean.

You will start the day by learning about traditional
medicine guided by a Mayan medicine man who has
received this knowledge from his ancestors. Afterwards
you will be guided through a Mayan purification
    ceremony.

You will then visit the archaeological site of Muyil where you may climb a 17 meter (51 feet) tall temple for beautiful views on the lush jungle around it.
A jungle trail will lead you further to the observation tower from where you will be able to see over the Sian Ka’an Reserve with its astonishing lagoons and jungles.

From here a boat will take you to explore the ancient canals that join the crystalline waters of several lagoons. You will visit the small Maya ruin of Xlapak which was built in the middle of the lagoon, go for a swim and float down the canal along with the current.
The tour is ended with a delicious Mexican meal before driving back to your hotel.

Includes:
Pick up and return from your hotel, transportation during the tour, expert guides, entrance fees, lunch, non alcoholic beverages.
