You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning to drive to the Yum Balam Protected Area. A jungle vehicle will take you deeper into the lush jungle to explore the amazing wildlife of this area on foot guided by an expert Mayan guide.
We arrive to the zip line base from where you will fly over the tree canopy on 3 different zip lines. This safe and exiting activity is an amazing way to see the nature reserve from an unusual angle.
 

The tour continues on kayaks into the reserve’s wetlands. We will explore a floating tree island which is a phenomenon that is hardly found anywhere else in the world. This floating tree landscape is home to orchids, bromeliads, alligators, tropical birds and colorful insects.

You will then learn more on the importance of involving local communities into wildlife protection by visiting the Maya village “Solferino”. We invite you to a delicious Mayan meal before visiting the community orchid garden, butterfly house and art gallery.

At the end of this wonderfully natural and informative day we will bring you back to your hotel where the tour ends.
