Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1:
You will be picked up from your hotel by air-conditioned vehicle. Then you drive 2 hours and do a cenote snorkel tour on the way. Afterwards you ride 4 hours to get to the Calakmul region where you will spend the night in a comfortable camp ground in the jungle. The camping is completely surrounded by jungle and provides big, private tents with comfortable air mattresses, (bucket) shower and toilet facilities, bird watching towers and jungle paths. Dinner is included.

Day 2:
After breakfast you drive 1 hour to the archaeological site of Calakmul where you will enjoy a guided tour of these amazing ruins. You return to camp for lunch and rest. The afternoon is used to visit special smaller but very interesting archaeological sites in the region. The night is spend at the same campgrounds and dinner is included.

Day 3:
You arise early to go on a guided morning hike and spot animals. The subtropical jungle here is home to different kinds of monkeys. Jaguars, tapirs, many smaller rodents and other mammals, tropical birds and insects are also present in abundance.
You return to camp for breakfast and drive back to Playa del Carmen or Cancun afterwards (6 hours).
